The ATEME Kyrion® AS2204 is a multi-channel MPEG-4/H.264 encoder enabling IPTV and Broadcast applications. With support for four channels in a single 19” rack unit, the Kyrion AS2204 allows video service operators to deploy hundreds of SD channels within a modest footprint. The AS2204 supports a second stream for picture-in-picture (PIP) used for mosaic applications, or low resolution format used for convergence application to Mobile TV or Internet TV.

Integrated Receivers-Decoders

I) DR 8100 Integrated Receiver Decoder

ATEME’s line of professional Integrated Receiver Decoders is a set of cost-effective solutions for the distribution of video services. The IRD provides high quality MPEG2 and H.264 decoding of HD and SD video formats with SDI outputs. The SDI output can be enabled to support HD outputs as well. It receives and down-convert HD video to and SD output for broadcast or monitoring. It is compatible with popular conditional access systems including DVB-CI and BISS. It supports common metadata in VANC including closed captions and Teletext, also supports DVB-subtitles and EIA 608 /708 CC.

DR8400 is a Universal Integrated Receiver/Decoder supporting all profile from Main to High422P including MPEG-4 4:2:2 10-bit, The DR8400 gives by default 3 different input types: built-in DVB-S/S2 demodulator, IP Gigabit and ASI with a TS bit rate up to 200Mbps. Combined with a decoding bit rate reaching 80Mbps with no compromise in CABAC, the DR8400 is addressing a large spectrum of Primary Contribution applications.

Transcoder

I) Kyrion File Encoder (Multiformat File Transcoder)

KFE is a multi-codec/multi-format file-based transcoder producing high bandwidth efficient content for delivery to television, mobile and Internet. KFE can transcode any kind of mezzanine file into multiple flavors such as MPEG-2 TS for VOD/push-VOD services, or Apple’s HTTP Live streaming and Microsoft’s Smooth Streaming for OTT delivery. Additionally, KFE is able to process multiple audio tracks associated with DVB subtitling and Closed Captioning enabling broadcasters and operators to feed their On Demand catalogs with a wide variety of content. KFE gives the user the capability to ingest KFE assets into any file-based workflows featuring Conditional Access Services, Digital Rights Management and delivery servers.
