The Minerva Redundancy Management
System (RMS) enables the deployment of robust, failure
proof video networks by providing SNMP-based failover
management of each component. This
1RU-networked solution delivers redundancy failover management
of Minerva IP Television headend products and third party
components to ensure operational reliability and minimal
downtime. Requiring only a few seconds to identify
signal loss and to switch to a backup device, Minerva
RMS guarantees the smooth, uninterrupted delivery
of video services.
The
web-based RMCI displays real-time network status and administers
all facets of the IP Television RMS. Its menu-driven modules
provide setup and configuration of Minerva VNP encoders,
Minerva Media Gateway DVB-to-IP demultiplexers, and third
party A/V routers, while displaying real-time network
and RMS status. The SNMP Proxy executes real-time monitoring
and automated failover redundancy switching according
to trap information received from the headend. Reporting
back to the RMCI, a series of control commands are sent
by the SNMP Proxy to A/V routers, backup VNP encoders,
or MediaGateways to execute a failover switch.
Minerva
RMS
architecture is designed to fit seamlessly in a wide range
of enterprise and carrier-class network environments.
Its robust and flexible APIs address extensibility requirements
for customers to integrate additional third party network
devices.
The
Minerva RMS software runs on a standard PC platform
and controls Minerva's VNP and MediaGateway products.
